Brand System — v1
THE GAP IS
THE PRODUCT
Strategic intelligence published in the open. Exhaustively researched analyses identifying what companies should build next. The hatched rectangle in the wordmark is the brand — the literal space between what exists and what should exist.
The wordmark is two stacked words and a rectangle. The rectangle fills the gap to the right of GAP — the word, the literal space, and the meaning collapse into one mark.
The hatched fill at −45° is non-negotiable. Always blue (#2563EB). Always present. Never replaced with a solid fill.

- digital96px wide (digital)
- print24mm wide (print)
- mark16px (favicon / app icon)
What not to do. The lockup geometry is fixed; the hatch is sacred.
Don't change the hatch color
The blue is the brand. Never recolor the gap rectangle.
Don't fill the gap with solid color
The hatched fill is non-negotiable. The gap must read as a gap.
Don't crop into the rectangle
Maintain at least 1× rectangle-height of clearspace on every side.
Don't stretch or skew
Geometry is fixed. Resize proportionally only.
Don't outline the type
Wordmark stays solid in the chosen ink color.
Don't place on busy imagery
Always sit on a calm background with sufficient contrast.
When a square crop is required — app icon, avatar, favicon, maskable PWA tile — the gap rectangle stands alone.

Every sentence either makes a claim or proves one. There is no third option.
Every claim has a number
“Massive opportunity” is banned. Dollar figures, percentages, and market sizes within the same sentence or it doesn't get published.
Publish before they build it
The prediction must be public and timestamped before the company acts. This is the entire credibility mechanism. No retroactive claims.
One person, stated openly
Never use “we” to imply a team. Never hide the solo operator model. The fact that one person produces this depth of work is the differentiator, not a weakness.
Industry agnostic
Never position as a specialist in one sector. The method works across infrastructure, hospitality, automotive, finance, retail — any domain where assets are underutilized.
Free first, always
Published analyses are always free and public. The value is in the credibility they create, not in gating access. Paid work comes from inbound demand, never from paywalling insight.
The gap rectangle is sacred
The hatched rectangle in the wordmark represents the gap itself — the space between what exists and what should exist. Always blue. Always hatched. Always present.

Structural Gap is a strategic intelligence publication producing original, exhaustively researched analyses identifying what companies should build next. Founded and authored by Carl Steine, the publication exists to demonstrate strategic depth in public so that decision-makers can evaluate the quality of thinking before engaging privately. Every analysis is built from primary observation and independent reasoning, grounded in publicly available data — earnings reports, regulatory filings, product documentation, market data. Revenue projections, market sizing, and competitive assessments are quantified with explicit assumptions. Sources are cited throughout. Predictions are timestamped before the company acts; this is the entire credibility mechanism. Published analyses are always free and accessible without registration. The flagship analysis, Cloudflare Forge, models a $107.5M incremental investment projected to reach $1.15B in Year 5 revenue at 79% gross margins. Structural Gap is also available for commissioned private analysis, applying the same methodology to a specific company and a specific strategic decision. The operator is one person; the work is the differentiator. structuralgap.com.

Carl Steine is the founder of Structural Gap, an independent strategic intelligence publication. He identifies overlooked product and business opportunities inside real companies, researches them deeply, models the revenue potential, and publishes the result as decision-ready strategic work. The goal is not to comment on what already happened. The goal is to publish what should happen next.
Carl Steine is the founder of Structural Gap. He identifies high-value strategic gaps that other people miss — opportunities a company is uniquely positioned to build but has not yet built — researches them exhaustively, models the revenue potential, maps the competitive landscape, and packages the result into work that a founder, executive, investor, or strategy team can immediately understand and use. He works alone, treating AI tools as force multipliers. Every published analysis is a public test of judgment. If the prediction proves right, the credibility compounds. The flagship analysis, Cloudflare Forge, was published in April 2026 and models the $107.5M incremental investment to commercialize Cloudflare's open-source VibeSDK as a productized AI coding platform.
